Wordless Wednesday {Go Math}

I haven't linked up with Miss DeCarbo for a while now, but decided it was time again!

I'm trying my hand at creating a Fill-In Resource for my 5th graders for Go Math.
If you want a look at what I did for Chapter 1, click {here}
Any helps/comments are appreciated! :)

P.S. Some of the wording is totally my own, not Go Math.

Question: Do you create things on your own for you classroom? Have any tips if you do?

Thanks for stopping by!

Wordless Wednesday: Independent Work

Do you let kids move around the room when working individually?
I've let my students try it out "on probation."
I think that I make color code my kids and then each day will be a certain color's day to move out of their seat.

Wordless Wednesday: Staff Birthdays

I like birthdays apparently since this is my 2nd birthday picture & questions but... staff members have birthdays too!

Does your school do anything special for staff birthdays?

We are doing birthday lunches this year. Each grade level picks a month and then brings in lunch one day during that month. This was November's lunch. It was delicious!
Santa Fe Soup
Chicken & Beet Soup (yummy! even though I didn't eat the actual beets)
Salad and homemade rolls.

Wordless Wednesday: Bags

What size of bag do you take back and forth from work?

I've noticed that I get more done at school and don't bring as much home when I use my smaller purse. It's just the right size for 1 maybe 2 assignments to grade. That means more time spent focusing on my little girl and sleeping, if I wait until she's in bed to grade!

Wordless Wednesday: Birthdays

What do you do for your students' birthdays?
Mine get to wear the "birthday hat", candy and a card from me.
p.s. I spray the hat with disinfectant. :)

What I'm Wearing, Wordless Wednesday {July 23}

Are you country or city at heart?

  This dress was my splurge during my trip, but it was still a great deal.  This was from Gordmans ($35), which I guess is similar to a little bit nicer Ross. I love this dress for a few reasons, but the main reason is that it is a maxi dress with sleeves! Because of my religious beliefs, I don't wear sleeveless clothing. All my other maxi dresses I have to wear a shirt under or a cardigan over. Sometimes that's not the most comfortable thing.

I love this detail too! It makes it so that it doesn't show every line underneath the dress.

I could't leave out my little girl and my nephew this time. They are ready for church! Baby K is wearing an adorable smocked dress made by my grandmother. All the white embroidery on the smocking and the tatting on her collar was done by hand.
Nothing beats good quality homemade with love!

Wednesday Link Ups

A busy week with family…. my parents & nephew flew out this morning. Now I am packing mode for me and the little one. We fly out the night of the 4th of July. Don't worry, I won't miss much. With it being pretty much daylight all the time during the summer, you can't really see any fireworks. That's one of the downfalls to Alaska because I love fireworks. Oh well… can't have everything.

I have been taking all sorts of pictures for the last 10 days. We have had tons of fun in the Last Frontier. However, when I went to see if I had a picture that I could use for this fun linky…I found none! I took all the pictures and was hardly in of them! Ever happen to you? I'm hoping my mom got at least of few of me with the kids on her camera. So this week you just get to look at my adorable little girl again.
Pant/Jacket: Carter's Set
Life Vest: Kids Don't Float
(It's awesome! Most of the docks up here have vests that you can borrow for kids to go on the boats.)

What sort of "celebrities" do you have in your area?
This is Lance Mackey, a dog musher who is also a 4 time winner of the Iditarod.

What I'm Wearing Wednesday {6.25}

It's time to join up again with Jessica from Ideas by Jivey and Miss DeCarbo from Sugar & Spice!

First up, Wordless Wednesday:

Yay for cousins! This is her only cousin from my side of family up to visit with my parents from Oregon. She can do anything that he can do.

Do you live close to family or do you have take trips to visit?

Next link up:

I'm a pretty basic dresser. You'll usually catch me in solids or neutrals with just a pop of color/accent. I'm starting to adventure out and am gradually adding more interesting pieces to my closet.

Top: DownEast Basic Wonder Tee
Jeans: American Eagle Skinny Kick
(My gateway to skinny jeans. Yes, I barely started wearing skinnies in the last 3 months.)
Sandals: Curfew
(these were an adventure outside of my normal. I used to live in flip flops but I wanted to try something that could help dress up my every day wear. I have to say, I love them!)
Belt: Kohls (from my cousin's wedding. Love it when you can reuse things!)
Necklace: "Firefighter's Daughter" that I've had since forever

I decided that I might as well show off my little girl as well. :)
This was heading to church on Sunday. My husband said that she reminded him of Pebbles from the Flintstones.

Dress: Carters
Shoes: Wonder Kids

Thanks for stopping by!

Wordless Wednesday: Room Clean Up

I am changing rooms next year to go with my new position in 5th grade, so I have to extensively clean out my whole room. I'm getting there. Normally, we have to pile everything into one part of the room.

What do you have to do to ready your room for the summer?

Wordless Wednesday: Future Post Tease

Future post tease….more to come

How do you feel when you are able to provide an experience to kids who would most likely never be able to do anything like it on their own?
